A small Camps Bay boutique hotel on Camps Bay Drive with an outdoor pool, cooked-to-order breakfast and easy access to the beach and Theatre on the Bay.
Important 2026–2027 renovation note
Expedia currently states that Royal Boutique Hotel is renovating guestrooms from 8 December 2025 to 31 May 2027, with work taking place during business hours. If you are considering a stay during this period, confirm which rooms are affected and the expected noise before booking.
Why it remains in the Camps Bay comparison
- Very central Camps Bay location
- Outdoor pool and cooked-to-order breakfast
- About four minutes' walk from Camps Bay Beach
- Useful small-hotel alternative when renovation conditions are acceptable
The location is attractive, but the active renovation is the deciding factor right now
Royal Boutique Hotel has the ingredients for a good short Camps Bay stay: a pool, breakfast, central walkability and a small boutique scale. However, current Expedia renovation information is material enough that we would not book without confirming the exact impact first.
The 9.2/10 score is also based on only seven Expedia reviews, so it should not be weighted like the much larger samples at POD, South Beach or The Bay Hotel.
Who should consider it?
Location-led travelers: if central Camps Bay walkability is the priority.
Flexible bookers: only if the live rate compensates for renovation uncertainty.
Short stays: where proximity to restaurants and the beach matters more than large facilities.
Pool, breakfast and rooms
Expedia lists an outdoor pool, free cooked-to-order breakfast, Wi-Fi and individually furnished rooms with premium bedding. The official property information also highlights off-street parking and airport shuttle service.
Location
Royal Boutique Hotel is at 23 Camps Bay Drive. Expedia places Camps Bay Beach around a four-minute walk away and Theatre on the Bay around three minutes away, making the neighbourhood highly usable on foot.
How we would book it
Before paying, contact the property or check the latest booking conditions to confirm whether the allocated room is affected by renovation work. Then compare the final rate with Sea Five, Central Beach Villas and POD. If the discount is small, an established non-renovating alternative is easier to recommend.
Why we'd consider it
- Excellent central location.
- Pool and breakfast.
- Small boutique atmosphere.
- Walkable to beach and restaurants.
Trade-offs
- Guestroom renovation listed through 31 May 2027.
