Accra

When to go and getting around

Southern Ghana has two rainy seasons, roughly April to July and September to November; December to February is drier, with Harmattan haze. It is warm all year.

Kotoka International Airport (ACC) is the main gateway, with domestic flights to Kumasi (KMS) and Takoradi (TKD). By road, Accra to Kumasi usually takes four to six hours and Accra to Takoradi four to five. Prices are in Ghana cedis (GHS).

How to compare Ghana hotel deals

Compare the same room type with breakfast, and check pool access, parking and backup power. Ask about resident rates where they exist, and add the cost of transfers or domestic flights when choosing between cities.
